Media Education Exchange Talks: Two media competence trainings held for high school students from Serbia and Kosovo by FLEX and YES alumni

This March ten FLEX and YES program alumni held media competence workshops for their peers - high school students from Kosovo and Serbia. These workshops were part on the MEET program which is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Serbia and administrated jointly by American Councils offices in Pristina and Belgrade. Twenty one high school Albanian and Serbian speaking students met online to learn about citizens’ journalism, fake news and propaganda, online security, and also to learn about each other. After their trainings all particiapnts were eager to share their impressions about the training - and all were happy they had an opportunity to be part of this program. One participant’s quote sums up the general feeling among his peers about the program - he said: The best was getting to know each other because the world is big and different opinions make you more mature and help you build personality. FLEX and YES alumni teams will continue holding MEET program webinars throughout April and May 2021. If you are a high school student and are interested, you can register here.
