The American Councils for International Education – Belgrade Office is pleased to announce the opening of two six months long (September 2025 – February 2026) fellowship positions at the American Resource Center (ARC), a new and dynamic American Space scheduled to launch in early fall 2025. The ARC will be located at Ložionica, within the Belgrade Waterfront district in Belgrade, Serbia. As a flagship initiative supported by the U.S. Mission in Serbia, the ARC is envisioned as a vibrant, multi-purpose hub that will serve as a key platform for educational, cultural, and professional exchange.
Designed to foster mutual understanding and collaboration, the center will offer a broad array of resources and programs, including:
Workshops, classes, and lectures on diverse topics ranging from science and technology to arts and humanities
Interactive exhibitions and educational outreach activities
Music, video, and podcast production facilities, supporting creative and media projects
Public events, including regional conferences, seminars, and training sessions, aimed at strengthening connections across sectors and borders
The ARC will be a welcoming, inclusive space for individuals of all ages and backgrounds interested in learning more about American culture, values, innovation, and partnership opportunities.
We are seeking dynamic, versatile, and learning-oriented individuals aged 18 to 25 to join us as fellows at the American Resource Center (ARC). Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about building stronger ties between the United States and Serbia through cultural innovation, with a focus on areas such as digital media, emerging technologies, and the creative industries. Fellows should be motivated, curious, and collaborative—ready to take initiative, contribute ideas, and help shape a vibrant space that promotes cultural exchange, innovation, and community engagement. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, grow professionally, and play a key role in launching and sustaining an exciting new cultural and educational hub in Belgrade.
Fellows will be engaged on a six-month contract and compensated through the Youth Employment Office (Omladinska zajednica). The gross monthly stipend is $550 USD for 20 hours per week work schedule.
POSITIONS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
There will be two fellowship positions available at the American Resource Center. The first is:
1. Innovation Fellow (Music and Video Production Technology)
This fellow will focus on bridging technology and creativity by promoting the use of digital media to support and elevate artistic expression. The Innovation Fellow will play a key role in activating the center’s multimedia resources and engaging the local creative community.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing hands-on support in setting up, maintaining, and optimizing music and video production equipment, as well as assisting in the creation of high-quality multimedia content.
Designing and coordinating workshops and training sessions to educate local artists, students, and enthusiasts on emerging tools, software, and techniques in music and video production.
Fostering innovation and collaboration by encouraging knowledge exchange among visitors, partners, and community members at the American Resource Center.
Arranging physical space for various ARC programing (example: moving chairs, tables, TV, setting up technology for projects, podcast production, etc.)
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for digital creativity, technical expertise in production tools, and a desire to empower others through education and access to technology.
2. Community Engagement Fellow (Communications, Reel Storytelling, and Social Media)
The Community Engagement Fellow will take the lead in building and strengthening the ARC’s presence within the local community through creative storytelling, strategic communication, and digital outreach. This role is ideal for someone passionate about connecting people, crafting compelling narratives, and leveraging digital tools to amplify impact.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing ARC’s social media platforms by creating engaging, relevant, and visually appealing content to grow and sustain an active online community.
Assisting in the production of compelling reel stories that showcase ARC’s programs, events, and community impact, using video and digital storytelling techniques.
Drafting and distributing press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials to enhance public awareness of ARC activities and initiatives.
Engaging with local stakeholders, artists, youth, and partners to foster relationships and promote collaborative opportunities aligned with ARC’s mission.
Arranging physical space for various ARC programing (example: moving chairs, tables, TV, setting up technology for projects, podcast production, etc.)
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a creative mindset, digital media skills, and a genuine interest in cultural exchange and community building.
Key qualifications for both fellowships:
· Excellent Serbian and English language speaking, writing and reading skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for engaging diverse audiences.
· Solid understanding and practical knowledge of digital technologies, tools, and platforms.
· Awareness of and interest in contemporary global culture, including trends in media, technology, and the creative industries.
